Start & End Point
ChitwanNepal is often mistaken for its dramatic Himalayan peaks only but many forget it also is rich in diverse biodiversity and wilderness. If you wish to explore Nepal’s unique wilderness and ecosystem, then we call you to come on our Chitwan jungle safari into the south Terai region of Nepal.
It is a unique Nepalese jungle safari that will take you to the heart of the protected area of Chitwan National Park also the UNESCO listed site. Our 2 nights 3 days Chitwan jungle safari will allow you to entirely engage with the delicate flora and fauna of this park.
You will encounter incredible wildlife and connect with the dynamic cultures of local communities. These features make our Chitwan jungle safari more than just a tour. It becomes an immersive trip that will present you with the true essence of Nepal’s wilderness.
Connecting with the unblemished nature, you will see the iconic animals of the park such as the Bengal Tiger, Magars and Gharials, river dolphins, one-horned rhinos, clouded leopards, and many other beautiful creatures.
This Chitwan jungle safari is also a trip to such a sanctuary that has extraordinary species of birds such as the great hornbill and Bengal Bustard. Whether on foot, jeep, or elephant back, the Chitwan jungle safari will truly deepen your knowledge about the conservation effort of the locals and government.
Additionally, our Chitwan jungle safari will also open you the door to personally interact with the Tharu indigenous tradition and their customs. The Tharu tribe has been coexisting with nature for generations and has been known to develop immunity against mosquito-borne ailments.
Thus, if you also like to see and get to know the Terai region of Nepal away from the known Himalayan land, then the Chitwan jungle safari is waiting to welcome everyone.
The time period occurring between September to March will be excellent timing for undertaking the Chitwan jungle safari. The delightfully clear weather at this time makes it easy to spot the animals. April and May days are often very hot while June, July, and August rains make the jeep safari and canoeing quite impossible.
You can get to the Chitwan National Park through a lovely road drive from Pokhara or Kathmandu which may take around 5 to 6 hours. You can choose to travel by public bus costing you around NPR 500 to 700 per tourist or also take a tourist bus at around NPR 1500 to 2000 per tourist.
Hiring a private car for 80 to 120 US Dollars can also be an excellent option for a comfortable and quick journey. Alternatively, flights are also available for you to Bharatpur after which you can take a small drive to the Chitwan park.
Himalayan Hope Treks has organized for you an inviting twin room at a three-star hotel near the park. Your room will be equipped with two single large beds, a private shower and toilet, hot and cold running water, and WiFi.
You will also have a vibrant green garden where you can relax at the sunset with a drink in your hand.
In addition, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant will serve you delicious and fancy breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. If you fancy a drink, the bar in the hotel will also serve you international and local beverages but please keep in mind the drinks price is not included in our 2 nights 3 days Chitwan jungle safari package.
Our recommendation for your meal would be to try special Tharu specialties such as pigeon dried meat, Bhakka or the rice cake, Bagiya or vegetarian rice flour dumplings, Pakuwa, the grilled meat of wild boar, and Ghongi, the snail dish.
To get inside the Chitwan National Park, an entrance fee will have to be paid which of course Himalayan Hope Treks will take care of for you. The fee amount varies with the country of origin: NPR 150 for a Nepali people, NPR 1000 for a SAARC person, and NPR 2000 for a foreign tourist.
This permit will allow you to get in and out of the park territory several times a day but a new fee will have to be paid for the next day’s activities inside the park.
Apart from the entrance charge for the park, a specific amount also needs to be paid for engaging in different activities inside the park, and we have taken care of that for you as well.
2 nights 3 days Chitwan Jungle Safari don’t require travel insurance but we advise it so you will be entirely prepared for any possible issues that may arise.
Chitwan is humid and hot with the concern of mosquito-born ailments. Additionally, going through stomach troubles from trying out a new dish is also not uncommon.
All these can lead to the expense that may sometimes go beyond your control. With travel insurance, you can travel confidently with the flexibility of adding a few more days even.
You can extend your 2 nights and 3 days Chitwan jungle safari by adding two more days so you can carry out some few more thrilling actions besides limiting to only jungle activities.
For example, you can rent a bike or cycle to tour around Sauraha or go 5 km further to Bharatpur to visit the Bis Hajari Tal (20,000 Lake). If hiking is your passion, you can head to the Uperdang Gadi Fort, and for a spiritual experience, a trip to Devighat is also an option.
Families, adults of various ages, children, students, wildlife photographers, and those with busy schedules will find our Chitwan jungle safari very intriguing.
Protective clothing according to the season you are exploring with a neutral color that blends with the jungle surroundings such as green, brown, and black will be appropriate.
One-horned rhinos, deer, langurs, leopards, sloth bears, various birds, crocodiles, aquatic birds, and water dolphins are some of the common sightings while the Bengal tiger often tends to stay away from people but with luck who knows.
Yes, but you must be following the guidelines of the rangers particularly when you are walking inside the forest. Safety measures have been in place for other jungle actions such as canoe rides, and safari.
You will find the tropical monsoon weather pattern which means mild winters and hot and humid summers.
No, Chitwan Park will remain open even in the monsoon, and with safety measures, you can still see around the park. Only the jeep safari and river canoeing will be closed.
No, sleeping in the core of the Chitwan National Park is not possible and all the visitors must get out of the park before dark. However, to see the night jungle activities of the animals, there are jungle towers that stay in the near buffer zone of the park.
In the warm season, pack the light clothing with sunscreen, insect repellent, comfortable shoes, binoculars, and a camera. For winter, keep layered warm clothing for the cooler evenings and mornings.
