Start & End Point
KathmanduHimalayan Hope Treks calls out all the Himalayan CONNOISSEURS out there to join our Everest Base Camp trek, a beautiful trek along the usual but highly popular route in the Khumbu region.
The ice and snow-filled camp of Everest at 5364 m and the Kala Patthar, the best lookout mountain at 5644 m are of course the spotlight of our Everest Base Camp trek.
However, the extraordinary chances of reaching the Chhukung Ri (5546 m) or Nagarjung Mountains (5050 m) at Dingboche and a one-hour tea break at Everest View Hotel at Namche, the tallest of all in the world will also give you a fair amount of thrill in the journey.
And not to mention, through the entire trail of the Everest Base Camp trek 14 days expedition, you will be able to experience the calming breeze flowing through Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Makalu, Nuptse, Cho Oyu, Kantega Peak, Thamserku, Island Peak, Khumbutse Peak, Lobuche Peak, Cholatse, Pumori, Taboche and other majestic Himalayan peaks.
Also, since the entire trail runs through the astonishing Sagarmatha National Park, you may also spot various enchanting wildlife such as red panda, snow leopard, musk deer, Himalayan thar, pika, etc.
You will also meet the very open-minded Sherpa people who will delightfully share with you their time-old Buddhist practices in their monasteries such as at Tengboche and Pangboche.
Our Everest Base Camp trek itinerary will advance you towards Lukla via air. The first leg then begins directing you up to Namche Market. After a day stop at Namche, you will navigate Tengboche and Dingboche Villages.
You will get another day off and break at Dingboche after which the second leg of our Everest Base Camp trek will usher you forward to EBC via Lobuche. After the Kala Patthar lookout mountain climb, you will journey back the same way to Kathmandu.
In short, our Everest Base Camp trek is a complete mountain action in the Khumbu region which also suits the trekking novices and those who do not feel confident enough to face a more demanding trek.
We have deliberately made our each day route short offering you plenty of time for adaptation. Although the Everest base Camp trek is regarded as an all-month journey, it will offer you the finest enjoyment in the time of spring and autumn.
For both the trekking novices and experts, the Everest Best camp trek will be best to undertake during the mild seasons of autumn/fall (September, October, November) and spring (March, April, May).
During these times, the threat of drastic Himalayan weather will be very low and the atmosphere along with the day and nighttime temperatures will also be very calm and pleasing.
The Everest Base Camp trek is a high altitude class II moderate mountain adventure that suits all levels of individuals from hiking novices to veteran walkers.
However, the 130 km long trail is continuous ascent and descent with varying terrain and climate requiring you to walk up to 7 hours sometimes.
The physical discomfort associated with the high elevation is constantly present but with proper adaptation, their occurrence can be reduced.
The Everest Base Camp Trek itinerary will direct you to an altitude over 5000 m, thus, there is always the risk of altitude sickness also called acute mountain sickness/AMS.
Acclimatizing timely and properly with our planned adapting walks at Namche and Dingboche, drinking enough water, and taking regular rests on the trek will reduce its appearance.
Diamox is very helpful in AMS that helps you to recover quickly from this illness. However, if you do feel headache, vertigo, sleeping, and breathing discomfort, then rest, hydrate, or drop to a lower elevation.
Don’t worry as our experienced guide will help you get over the AMS quickly.
The Everest Base Camp trek is quite a long journey that requires good physical fitness and a strong mentality. So train 3 months before with running, squatting, jogging, weight lifting, and stair climbing.
Also, make sure to wear comfortable worn-out hiking shoes or boots to prevent blisters when trekking.
Himalayan Hope Treks will accommodate you in the twin room of three-star hotels in Kathmandu where breakfast will be served to your room every morning.
For sleeping during the trek, a twin room of the mountain tea house will offer you peaceful warm nights with breakfasts, dinners, and lunches each day.
A private transfer from the company will accompany you for the airport and hotel transfers. A short flight for Lukla will also be preorganized for you by our team.
Integration of three Everest Passes or Gokyo Lake Trek is possible with the standard Everest Base Camp trek. Likewise, you can also choose to make your stylish return to Lukla or Kathmandu via helicopter straight from Gorakshep.
Everest base camp trek since taking place in high elevated Himalayan environment is quite an arduous journey. With it comes the hazards of AMS, illness, sudden infections, and injuries.
A rescue helicopter is sometimes needed to secure you and transfer you to Kathmandu. Travel insurance is therefore mandatory that will cover for all your medical treatment and helicopter rescue expenses.
Also note that travel insurance has become a requirement for all remote trekking adventures in Nepal, and permits will not be issued without it.
Sagarmatha National Park permit costing 3000 NPR for each hiker and Local Area Permit for Khumbu costing 2000 NPR for each hiker are mandatory requirements for the Everest Base Camp trek. This permit has replaced the mandatory procurement of a TIMS card in the Everest region.
Namaste better known as NTC will offer you uninterrupted mobile communication with a 4G data connection at a reasonable cost.
Certainly, at a tiny amount per hour or per device, the tea house will facilitate charging all your electronic gadgets.
Previously in the poor visibility and climatic condition, the Lukla flights get postponed or delayed for safety’s sake. However, as of now, the flights are reshifted to Ramechhap so delays do not occur often.
No, Himalayan Hope Treks will provide porters who will carry your heavy belongings in the entire time.
You may need up to 30 US Dollars a day for expenses like beverages, showers, WiFi, charging, tips, etc. Additional costs will be entirely based on you so you need to wisely plan your daily budget.
