Overview of Kathmandu Valley Tour

Besides the remote mountain trekking adventures, Nepal can also be a great destination for cultural and religious immersion. To give you this immersive in-depth experience, Himalayan Hope Treks brings to you its extravagant Kathmandu Valley tour, a journey that will deeply engage you with the centuries-old history and exquisite craftsmanship of the Newari people.

During our Kathmandu Valley tour 5 days trip, you will explore the three very old, time-tested three cities of the Kathmandu Valley: Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur.

Kathmandu at 1400 m today represents the blend of modern cultures and old traditions at the same time while Patan shows its refined best quality Newari Hindu and Buddhist arts.

Bhaktapur, on the other hand, is a living museum that still breathes the medieval air with its ancient lifestyle, houses, and decor. All the cities have been tested time and again and only ten years back suffered a massive earthquake.

However, our Kathmandu Valley tour will show you precisely why the Nepalese are resilient and one of the happiest people on Earth.

Our Kathmandu Valley tour will first take you on a full-day private guided tour of the Kathmandu city. The UNESCO sites of Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Kathmandu Palace Square, and Swayambhunath tours are on our agenda.

The next day will take you to Lalitpur also affectionately called the Patan where the Krishna Temple will specially hold your attention. Then Bhaktapur welcomes you in its legendary ambiance the next day with its oldest palace Square, Golden Gate, 55-window Palace, and many similar architectural treasures.

These three cities will not only showcase you their rare treasures but also the diverse lifestyles of the residents.

Overall, our Kathmandu Valley tour can be your short family holiday, an escape into the cultural, religious, and architectural treasure trove of Nepal.

There will be no trekking involved, just small comfortable walks in a private vehicle with a professional driver and an expert guide who will share very fascinating stories and legends about the sights as you journey from one to another.

Trip Information - Good to Know

Kathmandu Valley Tour: Best Season

The Kathmandu Valley experiences a temperate climate all year long which means it is free from severe cold and intense heat. The monsoon months of June, July, and August do bring in significant rain, but it is not persistent.

This makes our Kathmandu Valley tour enjoyable every month of the year across all four seasons. However, if you wish to have no weather-related issues, then the spring months of March, April, and May and the autumn time of September, October, and November can be excellent times.

Particularly, in October, you can see the lively annual festivities of Dashain and Dipawali, while March offers you the chance to celebrate Holi, the joyous festival of colors and water.

Kathmandu Valley Tour 5 Days: Difficulty

Our Kathmandu Valley tour 5 days trip resonates as the safest, most convenient, shortest, and easiest tour in Nepal which is profile I journey only through the major cities of Nepal.

The convenient altitude location at sea level of the Kathmandu Valley totally erases acute mountain sickness while the guided personal private tour removes the necessity of any hiking.

Thus, the Kathmandu Valley tour is just a relaxing journey safe to undertake with your family and friends.

Kathmandu Valley tour has no acute mountain sickness risk at all, also no hiking is involved and no permits are necessary so travel insurance for our Kathmandu Valley tour 5 days trip is not a requirement.

In addition, our four days have been planned completely within Kathmandu Valley which has well-supported modern facilities. However, the medical costs can be quite high so we advise you to get travel insurance to cover any expenses you may face during the tour.

Sometimes, you never know, an air ambulance may also be needed so make sure to include medical coverage, air ambulance and transport coverage, as well as coverage for extra hotel stays and any delays in tours or flights in your travel insurance.

Currency Exchange

Please don’t rush to change your country currency into Nepali Rupee straight at TIA as we will be there for your hotel transfer. Also, we suggest you avoid hotel and other money changing counters at Thamel.

Instead use Nepal Rastra Bank, Himalayan Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Everest Bank, or SBI Bank services as they charge only a minimal amount.

When you get the cash out of the ATM using your own country card, take out up to NPR 35,000 so you will have to bear only one time commission rate.
