Packing Tips

Depending on the season of the year, and depending on what you intend to do in Nepal, here are some things you need to have in mind when packing. The climate may be different significantly according to the year and the destination.

Bring light, breathable clothing as you would with warmer months, but you will need to bring a jacket or a sweater to wear on the cooler evenings. During the colder months, and considering you are taking a hike in the mountains, you have to pack on thermals, warm clothes, and a waterproof jacket.

In Nepal, the plug Type C, D, and M with 230V voltage is utilized and hence it is a good idea to carry Universal travel Adapter to recharge your gadgets. In case you plan on trekking, do carry a pair of hardy hiking shoes, an excellent pack, water bottle, sun screen and an umbrella. An extra pair of trekking poles may also be very useful on incline paths.

Dress in a conservative manner when you go to temples or other religious places; ensure that you put on a modest shoulder and knee length clothes. Light scarf or shawl may be useful in this and they are helpful when you want to protect yourself against the sun too particularly when you are a woman.
