Visa and Entry Requirements

Getting a visa for Nepal is very easy!

Most people get it when they arrive at Kathmandu airport or border places like Bhairahawa, Birgunj, or Kakarbhitta. You just need to fill a form and show your passport as well as pay the fee, and you’re done!

To avoid waiting in line, you can also apply online before your trip using Nepal’s e-Visa system. Just fill the form and print the confirmation.

Visa costs are:

• 15 days – $30
• 30 days – $50
• 90 days – $125

Bring cash in USD or other major currencies to pay. Card payment may not work.

You will need:

• A passport valid for at least 6 months
• One passport-size photo
• A short form to fill at the airport (available on arrival)

If you want to stay longer, you can extend your visa in Kathmandu or Pokhara.
